Porto city in Portugal

This was my first time in Portugal. It is a stunning country visually and I loved that each city offered its own unique character and charm.

Porto

Transportation:
– The driver from the airport to the hotel was a friendly local who gave me some great tips.

Hotel: Casual Inca
– This was my least favorite lodging. It was a bit run down and could have done with some updates. It had all the necessities but was bare bones with no extra amenities. (I also understand this was a last-minute change made by the agency, although I’m not sure why).

Tours:
– This tour was led by Amy
She was friendly, but it felt much more casual compared to other guides who seemed more present and knowledgeable. Not sure if a personality or cultural difference, just something I noticed. We also walked the full time in the heat, so it was very draining. But Porto is so beautiful that it was worth it.

Overall:
Porto was a much more charming and laid-back port city, compared to Lisbon. I had a more relaxing and fun time here and felt more a part of Portugal than some of the tourist traps Lisbon offers. It was also incredibly beautiful just walking about and taking in the sights from the river tour.
