Algarve/Lagos, Portugal
Transportation:
– Car to/from the airport. The driver was super friendly (a local), and had great insights. Arriving it was the father, departing it was the son, loved that family business ethic.
Hotel: Tivoli Lagos
– This was my favorite lodging, from the friendly staff to the expansive inclusive breakfast. The pool and outdoor bar were fantastic and cozy, and I had a pretty view from my room. It was a healthy combination of modern with charming features.
Tours:
– This tour was led by Carla. She really catered the tour to my needs (a little less history/churches, more fun facts and conversation). She understood this was the last leg of my tour, and while the history is important, sometimes it could get a bit redundant and boring. We also were able to take a car out to Sagres Point, which was so surreal in and of itself.
Overall:
I absolutely loved Lagos and wanted more time in this city. It was more laid back and relaxing compared to the other cities, and the weather and beaches were right up my alley.
